Tips: (then tricks) Choosing the Mental starter Houchic, as mental is a pretty good type, and it's a very late game tem in terms of how late in the game you can catch it. Catching a Ganki can also be pretty nice early on. For evolving Tuwai (which you get basically as a second starter, but you can't evolve it until somewhat late in the game), I'd recommend Tukai, the water evolution.
